Max van der Horst is a Senior Cybersecurity Consultant at Virtual Routes. Alongside this role, he is pursuing a PhD at Delft University of Technology, where he studies how to improve anti-abuse strategies in the hosting ecosystem. His complementary research covers cyber threat intelligence and coordinated vulnerability disclosure.
Max is also closely involved with the Dutch Institute for Vulnerability Disclosure (DIVD), where he helps coordinate investigations into the public exposure, exploitation, and remediation of emerging vulnerabilities. He previously worked in cybersecurity research for the defence industry and holds a Master’s degree in Security and Network Engineering from the University of Amsterdam, where his research focused on Internet-scale target notification.
