The Economist has published a summary, with a nice data visualisation, of Tom Johansmeyer’s April Binding Hook article looking at the economic consequences of the NotPetya cyberattack. Johansmeyer made the point that the costs of cyber catastrophes are quite low compared to other sorts of catastrophe and that the proportional economic impacts of major cyber incidents have been decreasing, despite our world’s ever increasing digitisation.
