Bernhardt Fourie is an AI Security Architect at NN Group. He brings extensive experience in security operations and threat hunting and has architected AI-driven anomaly detection, protecting high-value intellectual property at scale. He began in investigations and operations security at the International Criminal Court and the OPCW, later supervising the EMEA SOC at Uber. He refined his technical expertise as a Security Analyst and Threat Hunter at ABN Amro Bank and led incident response at Vanderlande. This journey culminated at ASML, where he progressed from Cyber Defense Domain Security Architect to Cybersecurity Capability Lead.
A South African native, Bernhardt holds a BA in International Relations from the University of California – Davis and an MA in International Security from the University of Groningen with Honours in Leadership. His work sits at the intersection of cyber risk and technology policy, translating systemic technology threats into practical safeguards for European technological sovereignty and industrial resilience.
