Joel N. Christoph

Joel Christoph is a researcher working on AI governance, compute policy, and European cybersecurity. His work focuses on how the economics of digital infrastructure shape security outcomes, with particular attention to supply chain concentration, hardware controls, and the design of compliance incentives. He has published on cybersecurity and digital sovereignty, including the winning essay of the 2025 DIGITAL SME Competition and a Highly Commended article in the IIC Future Leaders Competition. He is a Technology and Human Rights Fellow at Harvard Kennedy School, Harvard University. He speaks eight languages and has lived in ten countries.
